Understanding and Addressing Child Behaviors that Challenge Us

When educators thoughtfully and intentionally guide children’s behavior throughout the day, it helps children to feel noticed, secure, and cared for. By modeling kindness and respect, establishing predictable routines, and setting clear rules in the classroom, children learn self-control and gain confidence in their own capabilities. . This session will offer strategies that help educators respond rather than react, and build a positive classroom community that reduces instances of challenging behaviors, supports children’s social and emotional development, and creates an enjoyable, effective, and nurturing learning environment.
